Another country has recognized the opposition leader of Venezuela President

Israel recognized leader of the Venezuelan opposition Juan, Guido President. The corresponding statement Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu published in the Facebook account of his office on Sunday, January 27.

“Israel joins the United States, Canada, most of Europe and Latin America,” said Netanyahu.

Earlier on January 27 the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro rejected the ultimatum of great Britain, France, Spain and Germany, demanded within eight days to hold new elections in the country and threatened otherwise to admit the head of state, Guido. He accused them of arrogance, and dependence on the opinions of the United States.

On 26 January, the UN security Council supported discussion of the situation in Venezuela on the agenda, proposed by Washington. U.S. Secretary of state Mike Pompeo blamed the humanitarian crisis on Maduro and the government of Cuba, which assisted him including in the field of intelligence.

Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia opposed the discussion in this way and accused US of trying to organize a coup in Venezuela. Moscow’s position was supported by China, South Africa and Equatorial Guinea.

The speaker of Parliament of Venezuela Juan Guido January 23, declared himself interim President of the country amid mass protests. It almost immediately supported the United States, Canada and several Latin American countries. Recently re-elected to the post Maduro accused the U.S. of meddling in the Affairs of Caracas and has refused to resign. In support were made by Russia, Belarus, Turkey.
