Djokovic won the Australian Open and went down in history

Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic defeated Spaniard Rafael Nadal in the final of the Australian Open (Australian Open). He became the first athletes in history to win the tournament seven times in his career. This was reported on the website of the competition.

The meeting was held on Sunday, January 27. Djokovic won in three sets (6:3, 6:2, 6:3). The match time was two hours and six minutes. The Serb became the champion by quantity of victories at the Australian Open.

In women’s singles was won by the Japanese Naomi Osaka. In the final, she was stronger than Czech Petra Kvitova— 7:6 (2), 5:7, 6:4. This victory guaranteed the Osaka first place in a rating of Female tennis organization (WTA). 21-year-old Japanese woman become the youngest first racket of the world in history.

Djokovic also leads in the rating of Association of tennis professionals.
