The arrest of 24 Ukrainian sailors worsened living conditions in the SIZO “Lefortovo” Russian ex-governors and billionaires. About it writes “Rosbalt”, citing a source familiar with the situation.

According to him, the prison authorities deported Russian VIP inmates of good cameras and put sailors.

The source noted that their fate is interested in the press, Ukrainian authorities, and this theme follow in Europe, so it was important to ensure a comfortable stay of foreign prisoners in Lefortovo.

This insulator is subordinated to the FSB, so it contains a special population: former officials, businessmen, heads of regions.

A few years ago, the administration began to repair the double chamber, they came hot water, enclosed toilet, ventilation. Prisoners have provided new TVs and refrigerators.

Unrepaired camera was empty up until the mass arrival of the sailors.

“The room where were citizens of the Russian Federation, are in poor condition: the walls and ceiling have not been painted, outdoor toilet, no hot water, virtually no ventilation works. Privately said that the Ukrainians have to create good conditions so that they will not complain,” — said the source.

Russian VIP inmates are going to complain to human rights defenders in order to make conditions no worse than the Ukrainians.

January 15, 2019 Lefortovo court of Moscow extended the arrest of 24 sailors, detained in the Kerch Strait on 25 November 2018. That day three ships of naval forces of Ukraine — boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and the tug “Yana Kapu” — crossed the Russian border, did not respond to requests to stop and began a dangerous maneuver, in connection with which the border guards had to apply force against them. All the detained sailors were arrested for two months, they were transported to Moscow.
