British police have recorded an unprecedented increase in reports of fraud and the crimes committed with the help of Dating application Tinder. Data are the Daily Mail.
Over the past three years the number of victims of lovers, found in the network, increased more than twice. In 2015, law enforcement documented 442 treatment, and in 2018 — almost 1.1 thousand.
Police did not specify the nature of requests from victims. The publication notes that there are cases when the Dating app was operating fraudsters, rapists and murderers. About a third of the violations of the law-related services account for crimes of a sexual nature.
Local authorities drew attention to this problem after the 44-year-old Briton Anna Rowe (Anna Rowe) published his story. She was deceived by a married man named Anthony ray (Antony Ray), whom she met on Tinder.
When the lover disappeared after six months of relationship, Rowe found out that he used someone else’s photo and invented a biography. It requests the government to prohibit fake accounts.
Earlier in January, the network user under the nickname beam_me_up_softboi told about the most absurd ways to meet women in Dating service. Members laughed at the awkward attempts to make conversation.
