Specialists from several Italian auction houses said that stolen painting Arkhip Kuindzhi “AI-Petri. Crimea” could not be put up for auction. It is reported RIA Novosti on Monday, January 28.
“In Italy, this can also happen, but not in the museums of the Capitoline or Vatican level. After the kidnapping, the picture may not appear on the auction: it will come once the carabinieri”, — said the employee of the auction house Pirone in Rome. He called the kidnapper of a cloth lunatic, as, in his opinion, only crazy people would steal the painting in front of Museum visitors.
Other employee of the Roman areas of trade in antiquities and art agreed that the stolen painting could not be exhibited for sale, especially on such a controversial incident. According to her, “then nobody would be interested”.
January 27, unknown in the eyes of the visitors of the Tretyakov gallery has removed artwork from the wall and fled the scene. Witnesses took him for employee of the Museum.
