Opponents of the “yellow jackets” came out on the streets of Paris



More than ten thousand people came to “national March of freedom” organized by the movement “red scarves”, in Paris. About it reports France Info, citing data from the Paris police.

The marchers walked from place de La Nation to Bastille for the “defence of democracy and institutions” before “in the face of violence”. According to the TV station CNEWS, the demonstrators were under the slogan “Stop the violence”.

Mass protests erupted in France in mid-November of last year because of the government’s plans to raise the tax on gasoline. The campaign was called “yellow jackets” because the protesters wear reflective vests, as the employees of road services.
