China will continue to work with Venezuela despite US sanctions. This statement was made by foreign Ministry spokesman China Geng Shuang, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, the cooperation will be built on the basis of equality, mutual benefit and common development. In addition, he noted that China and Venezuela have long been trading partners.
The Department also opposed the unilateral us sanctions against Caracas. “History has shown that outside interference or the imposition of sanctions only complicates things and is not able to solve the problem,” said Geng Shuang.
Earlier on January 29 it became known that Washington has tightened restrictive measures against Venezuela. The U.S. Treasury has frozen the assets of the state oil company PDSVA seven billion dollars.
In October 2016, it was reported that the two largest oil company China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and China Petrochemical Corp refused to buy Iranian oil. According to analysts, the decision can be two main causes: pressure from the United States, which imposed sanctions against Iran, and the decline in prices for Saudi oil. Earlier Beijing was supported by Tehran and opposed restrictions against him.
