French energy company Total has found a large Deposit of natural gas off the coast of great Britain, reported on the website of the company.
The field was discovered in the area Glengorm East of Aberdeen, on the North sea coast. Its estimated volume is 250 million barrels of oil equivalent.
Quality gas-bearing layer is estimated as good, the depth of the well is 5056 meters. Now it is planned to continue drilling and testing wells to assess the resources and performance of the reservoir.
“Our strong position in the region will allow us to use existing infrastructure and optimize the development of this Deposit”, — said the official representative of the French company Kevin Maclagan. He also noted that the results of the drilling were at the level of “upper limit”.
The French company Total is the fourth largest in the world by production volume. This is her second major field for the past four months. In September 2018 Total discovered reserves of gas in the area Glendronach, to the West of the Shetland Islands (UK). The depth of the well amounted to 4312 meters. Her test proved good characteristics of the reservoir, the permeability and throughput of the well.
