A technical solution for crossing the “Nord stream-2” and the Polish pipeline project Baltic Pipe in the gas industry practice will be determined by agreement between the operators of the two objects. This is reported by RBC on Tuesday, January 29, with reference to the press service of Nord Stream 2.
So the company commented on the publication of the Financial Times, which reported that the pipeline project Baltic Pipe would need to be coordinated with the Russian “Gazprom”, as the pipelines will somehow intersect in the waters of the Baltic sea.
“In this case, you will need to enter into an agreement with “Gazprom”. This is a technical issue, but I can imagine a situation in which Gazprom could delay it or make the whole process longer,” said energy analyst Robert Tomaszewski. Nord Stream 2 has added that does not comment on “speculative statements”.
To launch the project Baltic Pipe reported in February 2018. The pipeline will go along the Polish coast to Denmark via the Baltic sea and will be connected to the Norwegian gas transport network. Announced that it will start operating in 2022.
“Nord stream-2” gas pipeline project from Russia to Germany passing through the Baltic sea with a total capacity of 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. It is expected that it will be put into operation before the end of 2019. Poland believes that this project threatens the energy security of Europe.
