The authorities of tel Aviv decided to increase the tax on housing that is rented to tourists through the online service Airbnb. About it reports a local portal Globes.

As stated in the statement of municipality, now Arnona (municipal tax levied on property owners — approx. “Of the tape.ru”) will be around 120 shekels (about 2 thousand rubles) per year per square meter, more than twice the average standard tariff.

The authorities of tel Aviv explained that this decision was taken due to the growing popularity of Airbnb housing, which affects the cost of rented apartments in the city.

In January the chief of Department of registration and migration of the Israeli airport Ben-Gurion University Amnon Shmuel called the number of the deported from Israel for the Russians in 2018.
