Tagansky court of Moscow arrested a suspect in the theft of paintings from the Tretyakov gallery. On Tuesday, January 29, reports RIA Novosti.
Chuprikov will spend two months in custody. In court, he refused to say that he recognizes his guilt, and asked to elect him a measure of restraint in the form of house arrest.
The native of Feodosiya Chuprikov stole the painting Arkhip Kuindzhi “AI-Petri. Crimea” in the eyes of visitors on January 27. He walked over to the painting, removed it from the wall, took out the frame and disappeared. Witnesses to the crime, took the thief by the employee of the Museum.
Police detained the suspect at his home in the village Zarechye (Moscow region). There was found the stolen painting.
