UFC reported on the financial results of the UFC 229, the main fight which was the fight of the Russian Habib Nurmagomedov against the Irishman Conor McGregor. The results of the study, which was conducted for promotion of research firm Applied Analysis published in MMA News.
The tournament was held on October 6 in Las Vegas in the arena T-Mobile and became the most visited in the history of the UFC: the promotion 20 034 sold a ticket, made a record 17.2 million dollars. Total revenue came in at 86.4 million dollars, which also was the highest figure for a single event held by the UFC.
UFC 229 has created 414 jobs in southern Nevada and brought in 17.2 million dollars in salaries. Visitors of the tournament brought the Nevada 3.7 million dollars in taxes. The head of the promotion Dana white also said that the competition had a record number of sales broadcasts pay-per-view and interest to a global audience.
Fight Nurmagomedov vs McGregor was the main event of the evening. In the title fight early victory was won by the Russian, after which he jumped out of the octagon and rushed for a team of Irish. The result was a mass brawl involving both fighters. Currently, the Athletic Commission of the state of Nevada continues to investigate both athlete temporarily suspended.
