Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina and Diane Yastremsky will not play for the national team in the matches of the Federation Cup. This was reported on the website of the Federation of tennis of the country.

The organization’s representatives stated that the reason was financial conditions put forward by the agent of both players Stefan Gurov. The statement noted that the remuneration was known to the players before the beginning of the season based on their current rating.

The Ukrainian side expressed the hope that the player will change the attitude to the national team. “We believe that participation in matches for the national team should primarily be based on the patriotism, dedication and respect for the sport of honour of Ukraine”, — said in the Federation.

Matches of the Federation Cup will be held from 6 to 9 February. Svitolina is ranked seventh in the world rankings of the Women’s tennis organization (WTA), Yastremsky — 47-E.
