Members of the Legislative Assembly of the Irkutsk region in the first reading approved the bill to increase to six thousand roubles of monthly payments to the honorary citizens of the region. It is reported resource “Taiga.info” with reference to the press service of the regional government.
As reported in the administration, the bill prepared at the initiative of Governor Sergey Levchenko. Regional Minister for social development Vladimir Rodionov said that the current monthly payment is 14 thousand rubles, and its size has not changed since 2010. If the bill is passed, the payment will rise to 20 thousand rubles.
The publication notes that the title “honourable citizen of the Irkutsk region” has got 75 people. This includes the head of state Corporation “rostec” Sergey Chemezov, Deputy Chairman of the government of the Samara region Ivan Mironov, the former mayor of Irkutsk and ex-Senator Vladimir Yakubovsky, another former member of the Federation Council Vitaly Shuba, a member of the Board of “Russian grids” Valentin Mezhevich, former Irkutsk Governor Boris Govorin and influential member of the legislative Assembly from the Communist party, the General Director of “Usol pig” Ilya Sumarokov.
Also in the list of honorary citizens of the region included people’s artist of Russia Denis Matsuev, Metropolitan of Irkutsk and Angarsk Vadim, the members of the Irkutsk community “Baikal”, scientists and cultural figures.
