In the office of the mayor of Riga Nile Ushakov in the building of the Riga city Council and the house policy is being searched. On Wednesday, January 30, reports “Interfax” referring to Agency BNS.
Investigative actions are carried out by employees of the Bureau on prevention and struggle against corruption (bpbc) of Latvia.
According to journalists, four members of the anti-corruption Agency profit Riga city Council around noon and headed to the mayor’s office. Later they came out accompanied by the Director of the legal Department of the Duma Janis liepiņš.
The journalists ‘ questions, the representatives of the MCC refused to answer. From the office of Ushakov made some items maybe a computer, and a large folder of documents.
The liepiņš also did not comment on the situation, citing the fact that such powers are only the leadership of the Duma.
Nil Ushakov has held the post of mayor of Riga since 2009. In 2017 he was re-elected for a third term. In Latvia it is considered a Pro-Russian politician.
