Information about the fact that the gold reserves of Venezuela were kept in Russia, not true. On Thursday, January 31, said the head of Russian Central Bank Elvira Nabiullina, RIA Novosti reported.
Earlier on Thursday, the “Novaya Gazeta” reported that in January a Russian cargo plane made two trips, taking out of Russia owned by Venezuela’s gold. He was allegedly taken to the UAE, where it was exchanged for cash dollars, after which the currency was delivered to Caracas.
According to the publication, in January of 2019 in the Russian Central Bank allegedly kept about 30 tons owned by the South American state of gold — a large part of the shares of gold reserve, which Caracas stores abroad.
