Germany, France and the United Kingdom have created a payment mechanism that allows you to make calculations with Iran to bypass the sanctions imposed on this country, the United States, reports Reuters.
A new mechanism has received the name INSTEX. Its operator will perform a special company with headquarters in France. Manage will be the representative of Germany, and the Supervisory Board will include a representative of the United Kingdom.
Other member countries of the European Union will be able to join INSTEX and make it through transactions with Iranian suppliers and consumers.
It is expected that the system can make money in the coming weeks. The principle of its operation is not disclosed. It is reported that its main task — preservation of the Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) on Iran’s nuclear programme, also known as the Iranian nuclear deal. In the spring of 2018 it left the USA, after which Washington has imposed on Tehran sanctions. In particular, the Central Bank of the country is forbidden to carry out operations in dollars, and the export of Iranian oil embargo.
January 30, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani called the sanctions caused by the crisis strongest in the last 40 years that have passed since the Islamic revolution in the country.
For the first time about necessity of creation of special payment mechanism for payments to Iran in August last year, said the foreign Minister of Germany Heiko Maas. According to him, such a mechanism should work independently of the United States, the European monetary Fund and the international system of Bank payments SWIFT. At the same time, the German authorities will continue to demand that Iran respect human rights, cease intelligence activities in Europe and will pay attention to other aspects of Iranian foreign policy.
