In Uzbekistan decreased the market of trafficking

The head of Department Rustam Juraev announced that the number of crimes associated with trafficking fell by 65 percent. If in 2017 the year of such crimes was 49, in 2018, only 17. The reduction in the number of such crimes Juraev connected with activity of the President of the Republic Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

In 2017, the U.S. state Department has recognized Uzbekistan as a country that does not meet the minimum standards of the Law on the protection of victims of trafficking (TVPA) and are not making significant efforts to combat trafficking. The Uzbek government has accused of using forced and child labour, the demand from farmers and local officials on the implementation of the state plan for cotton production.
