Branch Agency Agrifood Strategies calculated that the average annual growth rate of production of Turkey in Russia over the last 10 years was 25 percent, which is the highest indicator. Writes about this family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
According to the President of the Agency AB Davleev, such rapid production growth in Russia is explained by the so-called effect of low base. He explains that Turkey is a relatively new product that appeared on the Russian market only 15 years ago.
10 years ago the average Russian citizen eat in a year, about a kilogram of this meat, today this figure increased to 1.8 kilograms, said Davleev.
According to the Russian poultry Union, the volume of production of meat Turkey in 2018 rose by 12 percent, to almost 260 thousand tons. At the same time, the production of poultry meat has generally increased over the same period of only 1.4 percent, to 4.7 million tons.
In Agrifood Strategies indicated that as significant Turkey production grew only in Spain in the 2007-2016 years, whereas in the largest producing countries it stagnated (USA, Canada) or even declined (France).
