The businessman ran from the police for a seriously ill son

A businessman from China has escaped from custody, to see a seriously ill son. It is reported by news portal Asia One.

34-year-old Leon Li Lihua (Lihua Leon Li) came to Hong Kong to get a visa to take a sick child to the US for treatment. To do this, the man used counterfeit documents, which in November 2018 was under arrest.

While in custody, the man complained of feeling unwell and was taken to a local hospital. There he asked to use the restroom, to quietly slip away to the street. According to the lawyer Lihua, a man escaped, as one of his four children was suffering from a severe form of epilepsy.

In court on Wednesday, January 30, Lihua pleaded guilty to multiple charges — escaping from custody and resisting police officers. He also confirmed that indeed he used a fake ID and was on the run.

Lihua claims that violated the law “in the hope of saving his son.” In the result the trial was postponed to 8 February 2019 for a retrial and a reduced sentence.

In October 2018, reported the courier of the USA, who brought a terminally ill man his favorite pizza from a neighboring state. For this the driver had to drive 362 km. Family with cancer, rich Morgan (Rich Morgan) warmly thanked the messenger and called brought pizza “the best in the world.”
