Missile cruiser Leyte Gulf and the cargo ship Robert E. Peary, belonging to the us Navy collided off the East coast of the United States. This is stated in the press service of the defense Ministry.
The ships collided during feed replenishment. After the incident, they continued their course. It is noted that as a result of incident nobody has suffered.
Experts will assess the damage after the courts return to port of registration. The investigation of the incident will take the command of the Navy and the command of the Maritime transport.
At the end of December 2017 in the Aegean sea cargo ship “Orca-2” under the flag of Sierra Leone was faced with the Russian large landing ship “Yamal”. The incident was the fault of the African ship. The ship under the flag of Sierra Leone violated the international regulations for preventing collisions at sea, “following a parallel course and making overtaking the Russian ship on the port side, making sure that the overtaking is completed, changed course to the right and collided”.
