Real pensions in Russia back to the fall, to the report of Rosstat “Socio-economic situation of Russia”.
The average nominal pension in Russia by the end of 2018 made up of 13.36 thousand rubles that exceeds the level of 2017 by 3.7 percent. However, this figure included one-time payments to retirees in January 2017 in the amount of five thousand rubles instead of full indexation of pensions in 2016.
Given this one-time payment, the nominal average pension in year 2018 will be only 0.4 percent higher than a year earlier. The real pensions taking into account growth of consumer prices increased in comparison with the 2017 year, only 0.8 per cent, excluding lump-sum payments. Taking into account the payment of real pensions in 2018 fell 2.4 percent.
The last time the decline in real pensions for the year was recorded in 2015. Then it decreased by 2.5 percent in 2016 and 2017 pensions grew by 1.1 and 3.6 percent, respectively.
