The Minister of health of Tunisia, Abdel Raouf al-Sharif resigned after the death of 11 newborns in the center for obstetrics and neonatology, reports news Agency TAP.
Newborns died during the day from 7 to 8 March in the centre of the obstetrics and neonatology in the area-volatile, reports TASS with reference to the Ministry of health of Tunisia. According to preliminary data, the cause of death of infants was septic shock.
The Prime Minister of the Republic of Tunisia Youssef Shahed accepted the resignation of the official.
The Ministry of health formed a Commission, which will identify the causes of the incident and was found responsible.
In January was recorded mass death of children, including newborns, in a refugee camp in North-Eastern Syria. For two months, died there at least 29 children, most from hypothermia. Refugee children also suffer from exhaustion and weakness.
