The state Duma adopted in the third final reading amendments to the law on military duty, entitling them to additional deferral from conscription to those who have reached the age of majority while in high school. On Tuesday, March 12, reported on the website of the lower house of Parliament.
The document gives these young people the opportunity to serve in the army to study in secondary vocational institution or at the preparatory Department before entering the University.
In addition, they remains entitled to a postponement in connection with the training of the undergraduate program. It has added the right to study in the master’s program.
Speaker of the state Duma Vyacheslav Volodin noted that the law aims to correct past injustice. “The amendments allow young people to undergo continuous training, regardless of the date they reach military age”, — he stressed.
Earlier, on 6 March, it was reported that the defense Ministry does not intend to refuse the appeal of the Russians for military service, despite the increase in the number of units manned with contract servicemen.
