At the government Council for the development of cinematography, the Minister of culture of Russia Vladimir Medinsky said that during the holidays the cinemas should give priority to domestic films. The words of the policy reports TASS.
He noted that during the Christmas holidays in Russia there are restrictions on showing foreign films. “We formed the repertoire together with our distributors,” said Medina.
“I believe that we must also place priority on the two time interval is holidays around may 9, the festive and school holidays around the 4 November,” the Minister added, explaining that these days you need to focus on showing Russian films.
Earlier, the Ministry of culture took responsibility for the box office failure of the cartoon “Hurvinek. Magic game”, created with the financial support of the cinema Fund. Major cinema chains refused to show the tape since March 7 because of a conflict that erupted after the transfer of the Belgian premiere of the animated film “the Royal corgis”. Overseas, the picture was supposed to appear on the screens in the same day.
In September 2018, it became known that the Ministry of culture adopted the decision on amending the legislation under which the display of foreign paintings in Russian cinemas will be reduced to 35 percent of the total number of sessions during the day.
