In Kiev, on Friday, March 15, at the opening of the square named after Russian opposition politician Boris Nemtsov, who was murdered in February 2015 in Moscow. About this reports Deutsche Welle.
The name of Nemtsov got the Park on the corner of the street Surikova and Vozduhoflotsky Avenue in Solomenskiy district of Kiev near the Russian Embassy. The opening was attended by the mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko and Nemtsov’s daughter Zhanna.
Kiev mayor expressed confidence that one day the Embassy of Russia will be proud of the fact that next to it is the square of a name of Boris Nemtsov. “This square every day to remind the Russian Embassy about the people who fight for truth, democracy and justice, for their country’s future” — quoted Klitschko’s press service.
Kiev city Council has decided to assign the name of Nemtsov’s square in Solomenskiy district of the Ukrainian capital in November 2018.
Boris Nemtsov was gunned down on Great Moskvoretsky bridge in Moscow on 27 February 2015. A Russian court has convicted of murder a former officer of the interior Ministry battalion “North” Zaur Dadaev, Tamerlan eskerhanova, Khamzat Bagaeva and brothers Anzor and Shagit Gubarevich, they received between 11 and 20 years in prison.
According to investigators, the alleged organizer of the crime Ruslan muhudinov invited the artists of 15 million rubles. The charge was filed in absentia, in November 2015, he is on the international wanted list.
