Turkey does not intend to abandon the purchase of Russian anti-aircraft missile systems s-400. Such statement the head of state Recep Tayyip Erdogan has made in interview to TV channel TGRT.
“Refusal to purchase the s-400 is not discussed, he said. But if the United States will make us a good offer for purchase of Patriot, we are ready to discuss them”.
Earlier in March, the Pentagon spokesman Eric Pahon stated that the purchase of Turkey s-400 will lead to “serious consequences.” On 8 March a press-the Secretary of defense of the United States Charles summers pointed out that the purchase of block delivery Ankara American F-35 fighter and anti-aircraft Patriot kits.
On the same day the defense Minister of Turkey, Hulusi Akar has confirmed that the deployment of the C-400 will begin in October of this year.
A contract to supply Ankara with the four battalions of s-400 was achieved in September 2017. The contract is worth $ 2.5 billion, half of this amount will cover the Russian loan.
