The President of Russia Vladimir Putin posthumously awarded the order of Courage to 16-year-old Ivan K. from Severodvinsk, which has protected the mother from a drunken neighbor. The corresponding decree published on the official Internet portal of legal information on Friday, March 29.
Previously the boy was posthumously awarded the medal of the Investigative Committee of “Valour and courage”.
The incident occurred in may 2017. The mother of a teenager drank alcohol with repeatedly convicted neighbor in the apartment. In the result of the quarrel the man attacked the woman with a dumbbell and a knife. She received about 30 stab wounds and survived. Protecting mother, Ivan received three blows on the head with dumbbells and was hospitalized with a fractured skull.
The boy suffered from coma and multiple surgeries, 4 December 2018, he died in a Moscow hospital.
