The presidential candidate of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, leading in the first round of elections, has said it has no plans to unite with any of the “old” politicians for the sake of victory. He said this in his headquarters at the conclusion of the vote, UNIAN reports.
He noted that not negotiating about the Association with other candidates. “We young people, we don’t want, frankly, to see all the past in their future, the future of our country”, — said the showman.
According to Zelensky, it does not matter with whom of the candidates he will come in the second round. “This is only the first step towards the great victory”, — he said. The presidential candidate stressed that his strategy in the second round “victory”.
He thanked the voters who voted for him “not for fun” and his team, journalists and the wife.
Earlier Zelensky said that in the event of losing the election will be to fight for a place in Parliament. He noted that a possible defeat will not put an end to his political career.
According to the “National exit poll” for the second round of presidential elections in Ukraine go Zelensky (he tipped 30.4% of the votes) and the incumbent head of state Petro Poroshenko (17.8 percent). The third is former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko, who previously gaining 14.2 percent. Other exit polls, conducted by Ukrainian TV channels show the same outcome.
To win in the first round any of candidates had to earn at least 50 percent of the votes plus one vote. The second round in the case of this event will be held on April 21, and the final Protocol of the CEC will be released before may 1.
