Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev has charged to create the interdepartmental working group on preparation of the new Code of administrative offences (Cao). The order was published on the portal of legal information.
The document stated that the project will be headed by Vice Prime Minister, head of government office Konstantin Chuichenko. He was instructed to coordinate the work of the group, which in addition will include another 25 people — MPs, Ministers, human rights activists, representatives of different departments and judicial authorities and employees of presidential administration.
The concept of the new code should be prepared by the Ministry of justice and Ministry of economic development by 1 June.
Earlier in the government, “Interfax” reported that Medvedev said the current version of the administrative code cumbersome and difficult to use. According to him, “it is impossible to watch without tears.” He noted that the compositions of administrative offenses it is necessary “to comb”, and the endless sub-paragraphs and references to go.
The current administrative code entered into force on 1 July 2002.
