Russian figure skater Anastasiya Shakun disqualified for violating anti-doping rules. About it reported in a press release of the International skating Union (ISU).
A doping sample taken from sportswomen in November 2018, was positive. Shakun disqualified by the decision of the disciplinary Commission of the ISU. In the body of a skater had traces of the banned diuretic drug furosemide.
In February 2019, the Federation of figure skating of Russia (FSFR) has received notification of the results of doping tests Russian women and Shakun suspended from participation in competitions. The skater has admitted to using illegal drug. Shakun bought it at the pharmacy and used for removing the swelling of the eye. According to female athletes, she had forgotten that furosemide is on the list of prohibited drugs.
The period of suspension begins on the date the doping test. Thus, the Russian will be able to return to the ice in November 2019.
