The statement was made after “Interfax” on April 9, published a rating “Gazprom” risks for the Russian budget due to competition with the Yamal LNG with traditional pipeline gas in the European market. According to the Russian gas giant, in this regard, the Russian budget has a shortfall of 30 billion rubles. “This is comparable to the cost of “Gazprom” on gasification of the regions of the country — of 29.45 billion rubles in 2017,” — said the source Agency. In “Gazprom” has added that in the future, expect only the growth of supply Yamal LNG to Europe to exit the project at full capacity.
NOVATEK led the full capacity of its first LNG plant in the framework of the project “Yamal LNG” in December 2018. In February 2019, the co-owner and CEO Leonid Mikhelson said that in the future Russian LNG can be cheaper than the us for Europe. In the future NOVATEK plans to implement three similar projects — “Arctic-LNG-1”, “Arctic LNG 2 and Arctic LNG 3”.
