The former Minister for open government Mikhail Abyzov, who was accused of theft has been transferred from quarantine in General, a double chamber with a TV and a fridge in the detention center “Lefortovo”. On Tuesday, April 9, the Executive Secretary of the public oversight Commission (POC) of Moscow, Ivan Melnikov told Interfax.
According to him, Abyzov also receives the transmission and has a Bank account for the payment of orders in the shop at the prison. Soon the members of the PMC will visit the former Minister at the isolator and check the conditions of his detention.
On 29 March it was reported that Abyzov sits alone in a double cell with no hot water, old fridge and broken TV. According to the PMC members, when given the opportunity, the former Minister listened to the radio. For lunch he was given soup, beef and potatoes.
Basmanny court of Moscow arrested Abyzova for two months. He is accused of creation of criminal community with use of official position and fraud in especially large size.
According to the investigation, in 2011-2014, the former Minister with accomplices stole four billion rubles from “Siberian energy company” and the company “Regional electric networks”. The stolen money he took abroad.
His guilt Abyzov does not recognize.
