In the absence of the Internet in Russia, the domestic economy will lose about 20 billion rubles a day. This forecast was voiced by the head of the Duma Committee on information policy, Leonid Levin, his words leads TASS.
Levin’s speech was dedicated to the main reading of the bill on safe Internet in Russia. April 11, lawmakers passed a law in the second reading, he aims to provide work of the Runet in case of disconnection from the global network.
It is expected that the law will come into force on 1 November 2019.
In the first reading the bill was adopted in February 2019. A few weeks ago it became known that the implementation of such a law will cost the budget 30 billion rubles.
The legislative initiative was put forward at the end of 2018 MP Andrei Lugovoi, as well as senators Lyudmila Bokova and Andrew Clisham. She was a reprisal for the American strategy for national cyber security (in Russia it was named among the countries that organize the attacks).
