Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadia Savchenko, who was in jail on suspicion of organizing a coup d’etat, was released, reports TASS.
Brovary city district court of Kyiv region decided to release from custody Savchenko and the head of the organization “Officer corps” Vladimir Ruban. On the night of April 16 was the deadline of their detention. Earlier on Tuesday, April 15, the court decided not to extend the measure of restraint.
“I showed you how freedom must be fought. I wish everyone convicted unfairly freedom. I don’t break rules, I don’t run the country, as guaranteed by the prosecutors. I’m not running away from Ukraine, because I’m the Hero of Ukraine”, — quotes the words of Savchenko after the release of the edition “New Time”.
In December 2018 Savchenko complained about the pressure from the investigators of the security Service of Ukraine and announced a dry hunger strike.
Savchenko was detained in mid-March of 2018. She is charged with preparation of terrorist attack in the center of Kiev, and attacks on representatives of Ukrainian authorities, including President Petro Poroshenko. As evidence, the SBU has provided video in which the Deputy is discussing a coup with the head of the Central release of prisoners “Officer corps” Vladimir Ruban. Earlier he was also accused of preparation of attempt at Poroshenko and illegal possession of weapons.
