The head of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko said that the law on the provision of benefits for companies operating in the Arctic region, is scheduled to take until the end of the year. About it reports “the parliamentary newspaper”.
According to Matvienko, this law will give preference when working in the Arctic zone. “The fate of the law on the Arctic was not easy for several years, but I’m sure with the help of Ministry we will pursue the case to its logical end,” she added.
Matvienko also noted that the rapid development of the Arctic zone should not lead to environmental degradation. She said that the Federation Council will be held a large-scale parliamentary hearings, which will discuss the creation of legislative conditions for development of the Arctic.
About the plans regarding the law Matviyenko said following the visit of the senators is Ready, where is the center of development of production of liquefied natural gas.
On 9 April at the international forum “the Arctic — territory of dialogue” the President of Russia Vladimir Putin appealed to the government to draft a special Federal law about the special system of preferences for investors in the Arctic region. “And are asked to carry out this work quickly so that the law was passed by the State Duma already in autumn session,” he added.
