In case of a victory on presidential election Vladimir Zelensky to power to return people from the former head of state Viktor Yanukovych. This was stated by President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in the program “Svoboda words” on ICTV channel. The recording is available on YouTube.
“With the team of my opponent claim to the return of those who worked with Yanukovych’s team,” he said. The President reminded that these are the people responsible for the “criminal orders” during the events on Maidan in 2014. According to the Ukrainian leader, during these events killed “several fighting sworn brothers”.
Poroshenko stressed that the country “desired result” in the investigation into the death of people on Maidan. “I’m not satisfied with the work of the Department of special investigations of the Prosecutor General’s office, which concentrated in itself all things and is responsible. The name of the attorney — Gorbatyuk”, — he said.
In the fall of 2013 and winter of 2014, Ukraine held mass protests against the government, which the country has undergone a regime change. Former President Viktor Yanukovych and several other former Ministers were forced to leave the territory of the state. During the armed confrontation of the protesters with the security forces have killed 106 people. The event is called Maidan (Euromaidan), as the largest protest was held on independence square in Kiev.
The first round of presidential elections in Ukraine held on 31 March. By results of processing of electronic and paper protocols Zelensky received 30,24 percent of the vote, Poroshenko — by 15.95 percent.
