The current interlock system was not sufficiently effective in respect to the Telegram messenger, acknowledged by the head of Roskomnadzor Alexander Zharov. It is quoted by RNS.
“It is obvious that the existing system of locks, which involves the blocking operators in the signature of the IP address, DNS does not have the impact that would have, if we were talking about blocking”, — he said. The head of Department said that the system was created for non-proliferation of prohibited information on the territory of Russia, not to lock, as in the case of Telegram.
Zharov also acknowledged that Roskomnadzor continues to block IP addresses that uses Telegram. “Periodically you see on your smartphone that is loaded is slow. But I don’t want to reveal all the cards,” — said the official.
In January, the experts noticed that the Roskomnadzor resumed the practice of mass-blocking IP addresses. It was associated with the new wave of anti-Telegram. The representative of the Minister Vadim Ampelonskiy said that technology lock improved.
Messenger trying to block Russia from April 16, 2018.
