Russia insists on cancellation of the decision of the Eurasian economic Union (EEU), which obliges Moscow to fully open the market for dairy products from Belarus, writes “Kommersant”.
According to the newspaper, Russia intends to achieve cancellation of the decision of the Eurasian economic Commission (EEC) at the meeting of the Eurasian intergovernmental Council which will be held April 30. The decision of the UNECE requires Moscow to comply with the norms of the EAEU concerning the internal market, including on the admission of any goods produced in member countries of the organization.
Previously, the Rosselkhoznadzor has restricted the supply of dairy products from Belarus, citing the fact that the Belarusian authorized bodies to issue certificates for dairy products of low quality produced at plants, which have no necessary facilities and equipment. In particular, in Russia banned the import of Belarusian milk, cream and dry milk in containers larger than 2.5 liters.
ECE has recognized this as a violation of the law of the EAEU, but Russia insists that it is not discriminary Belarusian products on the market, because the import of products in the container of smaller volume permitted.
ECE decision on suspending the ban came into force at the end of February, Moscow will seek his suspension at the time of trial.
Earlier, Russia banned the import of Belarusian apples and pears for fear of falling into its territory of products from countries subject to a food embargo. In response, Minsk threatened to begin repair work on the Belarusian section of the Druzhba oil pipeline through which Russian oil is transported to Europe.
