Three sailors from the detained in South Korea ship “Palladium” has returned to Russia. This was announced by Chairman of the Russian Union of seamen Nikolay Sukhanov, reports RIA Novosti.
According to him, the sailors, in respect of which was not made the trial, appealed to the Russian Embassy and gave a statement to the insurance company. She, in turn, bought them plane tickets and paid a salary for four months. The Russians came to an end labour contracts, they were not paid the money, and the owner had earlier refused to bear the expenses on spending money on tickets.
In early March, five of the detained sailors, including the ship owner was sentenced to a prison term.
In August 2018, the ship “Palladium” was detained at the exit from the South Korean port of Busan for the debts under the salary. The total amount of debt the eight crew members for five months amounted to 250 thousand rubles.
In that month, the “Palladium” was released into the sea due to the approaching Typhoon, and later had to return. Instead, the crew tried to escape from South Korea without the necessary paperwork, ignoring warnings from the authorities. For detention of the vessel was brought to the coast guard ship and helicopter landing. It was reported that the team resisted.
