The Prosecutor General of Ukraine promised Savchenko further persecution

The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko reminded that the release of the Verkhovna Rada Deputy Nadiya Savchenko from custody does not mean the withdrawal of her charges. He reported about it in Facebook.

“GPU insists on the sufficiency of the evidence of Savchenko and [Vladimir] Ruban committing crimes. I am sure that the delivery of heavy weapons to the so-called “DNR” (the self-proclaimed Donetsk people’s Republic — approx. “Of the”), for the shelling of the Ukrainian capital will not go unpunished”, — he wrote, noting that the decision to release Savchenko from detention was exclusively in the competence of the court.

At the same time, the attorney General said that a high-profile court decisions, when those suspected of committing serious crimes to avoid arrest, forced him to admit that the judicial system of Ukraine “seriously ill”.

Previously, on 16 April Savchenko and the head of the organization “Officer corps” Vladimir Ruban was released from custody Brovary city district court of Kyiv. The day before the court made the decision not to extend him a measure of restraint.

Savchenko was detained in mid-March of 2018. She is charged with preparation of terrorist attack in the center of Kiev, and attacks on representatives of Ukrainian authorities, including President Petro Poroshenko. As evidence, the SBU has provided video in which the Deputy is discussing a coup with Ruban, who is also accused of preparation of attempt at Poroshenko and illegal possession of weapons.
