In Russian stores is a deficit of fresh herbs because of the decision of Belarus to restrict the certification of imported to the Russian territory of products. About it writes RBC with reference to the representatives of retail chains.
The problems primarily arose from companies that sell imported greens. Retailers working with local suppliers, for example, X5 Retail Group (“Pyaterochka”, “Perekrestok” and “Karusel”), the deficit is not felt.
“Indeed there is a deficit in this commodity group, since the decision of the Rosselkhoznadzor on the border with Belarus tightened customs control of imported products,” — said the Director of communications, “Auchan Retail Russia” Maria Kurnosova. Also a shortage of greens said in the General Ledger “Tape”.
National fruit and vegetable Alliance, said that the stores enough traditional Russian crops, such as lettuce, parsley, dill, green onions. In the organization recognized that the import of some types of greens (arugula, radicchio, spinach, parsley, coriander and Basil) did decrease, but this does not mean a shortage in the market.
Belarus in early April ceased to certify products for export to Russia within the framework of the fight against re-export of sanctions. Minsk has taken this step after the Rosselkhoznadzor has threatened to ban the import on the Russian territory vegetable products from Belarus because of the ongoing supply of goods under sanctions. This, in particular, has led to the fact that in Russia there was a shortage of Romaine lettuce, which is used in the preparation of Caesar salad.
