The situation with the prices for gasoline and other fuels have been normalized through the intervention of the authorities and personally the President said during a speech in the state Duma, Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, quoted by RIA Novosti.
“The situation last year got out of control. It’s bad. Had to interfere with it. And the President, and on behalf of, the government. Set a number of rules and even what is called, to wag your finger to companies that produce oil, under pain of introducing a so-called export duties,” — said Medvedev.
According to him, now the situation is stable and under control. This contributes concluded in April between the government and major oil companies agreement to freeze prices for petroleum products. According to him, the cost of gasoline and other fuels may not increase more than the inflation rate. The document extends until July, the result of a similar agreement reached last fall.
“I hope that everything will remain in those decisions that we made,” — said the head of government. In the near future, according to Medvedev, the government will submit the final mechanisms and measures that will help stabilize the situation in the long term.
