Romanian Liga 1 — the top division football championship — sold the rights to broadcast matches of the championship for 28 million euros per season. It is reported by Digi Sport.
According to the newspaper, the contract with the local TV Digisport, Telekomsport, Look TV was signed for five years. The total amount of the contract amounted to 140 million euros.
In July 2018, the Russian TV channel “Match TV” has signed a four year contract with Russian Premier League to broadcast the championship of the country. The amount of the agreement amounted to 1.7 billion rubles a year (about 23.5 million euros). That is, the translation of Romanian football for one season worth 28 million Euro, Russian — about 5 million. A difference of nearly 24 million euros.
By the end of 2017 on revenue of 12.6 billion rubles loss “Match TV” from the main activity amounted to 1.2 billion rubles, net loss — 51 million rubles.
“Match TV” has started work in November 2015, the TV channel is included into holding “Gazprom-media”.
