The leaders of the Maidan was accused of giving up Crimea

The state Bureau of investigation of Ukraine has opened a criminal case “on the facts of voluntary surrender of the Crimea” against the leaders of protests on Maidan in 2014. It is reported TASS with reference to the legal firm “Aver Lex”.

“The state Bureau of investigation April 1 opened a criminal case on the facts of intentional surrender of the current senior officials of Ukraine’s Crimea, the violent seizure of power, treason, organizing mass killings on the Maidan in 2014”, — reported in the organization.

According to representatives of “Aver Lex”, defendants in the case are former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk, the acting President of Ukraine in 2014, Alexander Turchinov, the mayor of Kiev and leader of the “UDAR” Vitali Klitschko, the leader of nationalist party “Freedom” Oleg Tyagnibok, Prosecutor General Yury Lutsenko and others.

“The fifth of February law group of Viktor Yanukovych were presented the results of its investigation of the events of 2014 and their role in the loss of territorial integrity of Ukraine. Evidence disclosing the individual circumstances of the loss of the territorial integrity of Ukraine and pointing to the guilt of specific individuals from among active politicians”, — noted the Agency.

In the fall of 2013 and winter of 2014, Ukraine held mass protests against the government, which the country has undergone a regime change. Former President Viktor Yanukovych and several other former Ministers were forced to leave the territory of the state. During the armed confrontation of the protesters with the security forces have killed 106 people. The event is called Maidan (Euromaidan), as the largest protest was held on independence square in Kiev.
