Russian Jews provide the Donbass matzah



The Federation of Jewish communities of Russia (FJC) has sent more than a half-ton of food packages for the Passover holiday, the residents of the breakaway Donetsk and Lugansk national republics (DND and LNR). This was reported on the website of the organization.

The FJC noted that in 2015 in the Donbass was sent more than 11 tons of food, clothing and medicines. “This region is home to many Jewish families. The FJC sees its task to help the Jews, and it is particularly important that everyone had the opportunity to fully celebrate important religious holidays,” — said in the message.

According to the chief Rabbi of Donbass Pinchas Vyshedski, the Jewish community in Donetsk has about two thousand people. Ukraine, according in 2001, is home to 360-400 thousand Jews.
