The inhabitants of the Pankisi gorge — mostly ethnic Chechens — are categorically against the construction on the river Alazani HPP “Khadori-3”. Which began on 21 April the work on the construction of the facility, they met with protests, but when the spontaneous action were involved in the riot, began to throw stones at security forces and set fire to their car.
