The European Commission (EC) received a complaint of “Naftogaz of Ukraine” in respect of “Gazprom” and promised to send a response after a careful study of the document, reports TASS.
It also noted that the issue of gas transit should be the main at the next trilateral Ministerial meeting on gas. The meeting between Russia, the EU and Ukraine must be held before mid-July.
Previously, “Naftogaz” has filed a complaint with the EC on anti-competitive actions of the Russian “Gazprom”. Under such actions of the Ukrainian side understands the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”, lock virtual reverse and control over the companies in the European gas market.
A ten-year contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom on gas transit expires in late 2019. In March, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev said that Moscow is ready to keep gas transit in the event of settlement between companies, profitable economic and commercial parameters of the transaction, as well as a stable political situation.
