In the South of Sicily in Mussomeli, the local authorities put up for sale about a hundred of the old houses, the cost of each one Euro. It is reported by The Sun.
Future owners had put forward a condition — during the year they are obliged to carry out major repairs to the purchased building, which will cost about 95 euros (about seven thousand) per square meter, the newspaper writes. Otherwise, the owner will lose the Deposit made in the amount of about seven thousand euros (more than 512 thousand rubles).
City officials said that they are ready to provide assistance to architects and engineers. It is expected that in near future there will be more 400 proposals.
In January authorities the Italian municipality of Sambuca di Sicilia has announced the sale of the houses for one Euro. For sale were displayed dozens of historical sites to draw in a city suffering from depopulation, new residents and improve its appearance. Buyers were obliged to repair the house for three years, spending not less than 15 thousand euros (about 1.1 million).
