Putin joined the Immortal regiment March in Moscow

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Victory Day joined the participants of the action “Immortal regiment” in the center of Moscow. About it reports “Interfax”. The President led the procession with a portrait of his father-the veteran.

According to the President, he did not know in advance, will he be able to join the procession, and made the decision at the last moment. “It wasn’t planned in my schedule. And I would not like to see what comes from the heart of every person and of all people, was bureaucratic” — said Putin. He noted that he chose the photo of the father, who “was there” and “like many other Russians decided to take a seat in the ranks.”

The marchers, led by Putin are moving along Tverskaya street towards red square. The President takes part in the action “Immortal regiment” for the fifth consecutive year.

The action “Immortal regiment” held may 9 in Russia and other countries. The demonstrators are holding photos of their relatives — soldiers and veterans of the great Patriotic war, partisans, prisoners of concentration camps, home front workers, the Leningrad blockade and others.
